Over the past week, calcium deficiency has been documented in select tobacco fields. This deficiency is characterized by pointed leaf tips, downward cupping, and/or hooded leaves in the new growth. This deficiency is most commonly observed just prior to topping since root growth declines due to the transition from vegetative to reproductive growth. For more of this story, click here.
