North Carolinians all know our state raises a lot of hogs and a lot of chickens. We don't normally realize how many though, unless we cruise up I-40 and catch a whiff of one of those "concentrated animal feeding operations." Or unless we click on an interactive map released last month by the Waterkeeper Alliance, the Environmental Working Group and a network of other do-good organizations.
