Maps that reveal the locations of hog, chicken and turkey farms in North Carolina show a disturbing trend for the Cape Fear River area, an environmental advocate says. The maps, which were made using geographic information and satellite photographs, show the more than 6,500 swine, poultry and cattle operations in the state, according to a statement released by the three organizations that collaborated on the project.
