N.C. regulators wrapped up a day-and-a-half evidentiary hearing on Duke Energy’s $4.9 billion purchase of Piedmont Natural Gas on Tuesday. The completed hearing sets things up for a final ruling from the N.C. Utilities Commission as early as October and a closing shortly thereafter.
