A House Republican opposed to building toll lanes on Interstate 77 in Charlotte is resigning from office and taking his name off November's ballot. Several news outlets reported that Rep. Charles Jeter sent out a news release saying he loves serving the people of North Carolina, but can't continue to do a job that keep his wife and children from being his first priority.
