OFF FARM GRAIN STOCKS
Off farm grain stocks reported for Soybeans totaled 7,225,000 as of June 1. This was unchanged from the
total bushels reported on June 1, 2015.


CHICKEN EGGS
South Atlantic Region: Broiler-Type eggs in incubators on June 1, 2016 totaled 253,916,000. The total was up slightly from the June 2015 total of 253,705,000 eggs. The total number of Egg-Type eggs in incubators decreased 10% from 5,465,000 on June 1, 2015 to 4,928,000 eggs on June 1, 2016.


SOWS FARROWING
North Carolina producers intend to farrow 455,000 sows during the June–August 2016 and 450,000 during the September–November 2016 quarters.


PIG CROP
The State’s pig crop during the March–May 2016 period totaled 4.7 million head, up 14% from the same period last year. These pigs were produced by 460,000 sows.


PIGS PER LITTER
The number of pigs saved per litter averaged 10.3, which is up from the 9.3 pigs saved during the same quarter last year.


HOGS & PIGS
Hogs and pigs on North Carolina farms June 1, 2015 totalled 8.9 million head, up 2% from March 1, 2016.
