What a difference a little time can make.According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, last summer saw egg prices ramp up to record highs -- nearly $3 per dozen -- in the wake of an avian flu outbreak. The spike hit home in the Cape Fear region, with some area restaurants imposing temporary price increases on egg-centric menu items.
