Hillary for North Carolina today is announcing new analysis that shows North Carolina could add 325,000 jobs under Hillary Clinton's economic plans, while it could lose 106,000 jobs under a Donald Trump presidency. The findings are based on two recent reports by Moody's economist and former adviser to John McCain, Mark Zandi. Zandi's analysis showed that under Clinton's plans, the economy overall would create 10.4 million jobs nationwide while under Trump, the economy would lose 3.4 million jobs and the nation would plunge into a "lengthy recession."

Clinton has pledged to make the largest investment in good-paying jobs since World War II in her first 100 days in office. This plan - which Hillary Clinton announced in North Carolina this summer - would grow jobs in North Carolina by making the boldest investments in infrastructure since President Eisenhower built the interstate highway system, investing in North Carolina's manufacturing, and cutting taxes and reducing red tape for North Carolina's small businesses, among other provisions.

"Under Hillary Clinton's jobs plan, private businesses would create hundreds of thousands of good jobs in North Carolina,"said Former Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers Alan Krueger. "Secretary Clinton is especially committed to doing more to support North Carolina’s 833,000 small businesses and the 1.5 million workers these businesses employ by providing tax relief and simplification, cutting red tape, expanding access to capital, investing in infrastructure, and opening up new markets so U.S. companies can sell their products around the country and the world."

"Donald Trump claims he’s qualified to be President because of his business career but more than anything else, however, Donald Trump’s business record reveals that he has made a career out of making himself rich at the at the expense of everyone else - especially the small businesses that he drove into the ground with his dishonest practices," said Congressman G. K. Butterfield (D-NC 1). "He insists on tearing people apart and seeking large, unaffordable tax breaks for the wealthy even though he's made his products overseas."

"When it comes to the stakes in this election, here is what you need to know," said former N.C. State Treasurer Richard Moore. "Nonpartisan economic experts affirm that Hillary Clinton's plan will help create hundreds of thousands of jobs in North Carolina, whereas Donald Trump's approach would cause a recession and kill over one hundred thousand jobs here in our state. Hillary Clinton brings the experience and credibility to the table that she has earned from a lifetime of working to put families first and to improve peoples lives. These economic numbers prove that she is the President North Carolina deserves."

A full fact sheet on today's analysis of Zandi's findings and additional details on how Clinton's 100-Days jobs agenda would benefit North Carolina and create jobs is attached. The estimated job gains and losses in North Carolina under Clinton's plans and Trump's plans were calculated by distributing Zandi's national projections evenly among the states in proportion to their populations.
