Davie County is becoming a hot spot for solar farms. An Asheville solar company, Headwaters Solar LLC, has submitted a proposal to the N.C. Utilties Commission to build two 5-megawatt facilities off Baltimore Road in Advance. Each project has an estimated cost of $7.8 million.
