After more than four hours of testimony, Moore County Commissioners denied a 27.5-acre solar farm project at 415 Stage Road, near Carthage. This is the first time the board has denied a conditional use permit for a solar farm. Approximately nine solar farms have already been approved. The land on Stage Road is currently zoned for residential and agricultural use.
