FDA is seeking nominations for a nonvoting representative of the tobacco growing industry to serve on the Tobacco Products Scientific Advisory Committee as well as an alternate to this representative. Nominees may be self-nominated or nominated by an organization. Additionally, FDA is looking for industry organizations interested in participating in the selection of this nonvoting representative.

The committee reviews and evaluates safety, dependence, and health issues relating to tobacco products and provides appropriate advice, information, and recommendations to the FDA commissioner.

All statements of interest from industry organizations that would like to participate in the selection process should be sent to Caryn Cohen at TPSAC@fda.hhs.gov by September 14, 2016. Also by this date, all nominations for nonvoting industry representatives should be submitted electronically by accessing the FDA Advisory Committee Membership Nomination Portal or by mail.
