Hog supplies are large and are expected to remain that way for the balance of this year. Steve Meyer, vice president of pork analysis for EMI Analytics, is forecasting a 2.7 % larger hog slaughter from a year ago…“And that’s still a big concern.  We only had third quarter slaughter up about 1%, and so far we’ve run 2% plus above a year ago."
