Steven Valencsin drives up to the end of a dirt road. It’s May, and in front of him are 248 telephone poles, strung together at the top in a grid arrangement. About 9,000 individual strings hang down. “Coir rope, made from coconut husk,” Valencsin said, tugging at one of the strings. “It’s really bristly, and plants love to cling to it.
