North Carolina’s central Piedmont experiencing abnormally dry conditions

Drought conditions in North Carolina increased slightly in number, and now include a larger area of the state according to the latest drought monitor released by the Drought Mitigation Center on Thursday for conditions through Tuesday morning.  The area of abnormally dry conditions increased from 13.43 to 23.7%, largely in the I-85 corridor from Franklin County down to Robeson County.
