Global consumer brand parent Mars Inc. plans to invest more than $20 million into an eastern North Carolina plant it inherited through its buy of Procter & Gamble’s pet food business. While Mars may be most famous for candy – chocolate brands such as M&Ms – it’s also the parent behind several pet-focused brands, such as Pedigree and Whiskas.
