Hermine came through at vulnerable time for corn

Before it even had a name, farmers had combines rolling as many hours a day as possible to try to beat Tropical Storm Hermine, which made landfall in Florida on Thursday night, and traveled through Georgia and the Carolinas on Friday into Saturday morning.  NC State Extension Corn Specialist Dr. Ron Heiniger says those few days warning helped corn producers make significant progress on harvest:
