Pittillo witnesses the evolution of farming

In the 1930s, when Louia and Mattie Pittillo were headed to Florida from Henderson County to celebrate their honeymoon, they took homegrown vegetables and brought back fruit, all to sell so that they could pay for the honeymoon itself.
Louia Pittillo was a dairy farmer, and like most folks in the county at that time, he grew some produce.
