Nation's largest wind energy farm to be built in Iowa

The Iowa Utilities Board last week approved plans for construction of a wind turbine farm that will be the nation’s largest wind energy project. Des Moines-based MidAmerican Energy Company received the final okay from state regulatory officials for Wind XI, a $3.6 billion wind turbine operation that will generate up to 2,000 megawatts of electricity.
