In the latest crop progress report for North Carolina released Tuesday for conditions through Sunday, September 4th, there were just over 5 days suitable for field work compared to just shy of 7 the previous week.  Topsoil moisture is rated at 3% very short, 18% short, 63% adequate and 16% surplus.
