FSIS will delay enforcement of the egg product export regulations included in the final export rule, “Electronic Export Application and Certification Charge; Flexibility in the Requirements for Export Inspection Marks, Devices, and Certificates; Egg Products Export Certification” (June 29, 2016, 81 FR 42225).

The final export rule amended the egg product export regulations to add export application, certification and stamping requirements among other provisions (9 CFR § 590.407, § 592.20). These changes parallel the meat and poultry product export regulations which require application, certification and stamping of product for export.

The egg product export provisions became effective on Aug. 29, 2016. However, to provide industry and FSIS inspection program personnel more time to transition to the new requirements, FSIS will begin enforcing those provisions at a later date which will be announced in the Constituent Update and in askFSIS at http://askfsis.custhelp.com. Until the new enforcement date is identified, the current egg product export procedures should be followed.
