John Deere maker wants out of decreased crop yield suit

Deere & Co. asked an Indiana federal judge on Wednesday to squash a proposed class action brought by a farmer accusing the company of changing the design — and in effect reducing crop yields — of some of its John Deere brand agricultural planters without telling farmers, saying that the customer offers no proof of Deere’s alleged deception.
