High moisture and yields delaying corn harvest in some areas of NC

There were almost seven days suitable for field work in North Carolina in the week ended September 18th, slightly more than the previous week.  Topsoil moisture is rated at 11% very short, 25% short, 55% adequate and 9% surplus.  Charles Mitchell with Franklin County Extension reports that the county has been extremely dry the last two months, and soybeans are suffering.
