Mary:  I’m Mary Walden, with economist MW, welcoming you to the economic perspective.   Today’s program looks at job gains and losses.  Mike, the economy has been improving and jobs are being added.  But I occasionally I hear about a company laying off workers.  Is it unusual for an economy to see additions and subtractions to the job market occurring at the same time?
