A pair of big events have pulled the plug for this weekend with the threat of Hurricane Matthew off the coast.
The 23rd Annual Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues and Jazz Festival slated for Saturday and Sunday in Kure Beach will now be a one-day event next spring. Organizers say the festival has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area. Johnny Lang will be the headlining act.
