Advocacy group tries to raise N.C. minimum wage issue as top-line election issue

In the midst of the intense debate about the reality and statewide reach of the “Carolina comeback,” an advocacy group is raising the state minimum wage as a front-burner issue for the general election and the 2017 legislative session. Gov. Pat McCrory and several Republican legislators have touted the state’s economic recovery since 2012 as a leading re-election issue, though much of the comeback has been concentrated in Charlotte and the Triangle.
