Governor will call special session to deal with hurricane recovery, school make-up days

Gov. Pat McCrory said Thursday that he expects to call a special session of the General Assembly to ask for disaster relief funding and to offer a decision on school make-up days. Making his second visit to the city of about 22,000 since Hurricane Matthew struck Oct. 8 and pushed the Lumber River well beyond its banks, the governor saw several places damaged and made a stop at the water treatment plant.
