Piedmont Natural Gas is asking for permission to build a new natural gas line under the Cape Fear River to help it serve Wilmington. The StarNews (http://bit.ly/2gjZFWm ) reports that the utility has applied for permits to build a 10-inch line under the river. The current 8-inch line would be emptied and capped.
