Rain impacts on wildfires and drought in WNC

On Monday, Curtis Searcy spent the day raking leaves and looking forward to two days of heavy rain. "We are desperately in need for the rain," said Searcy, a longtime McDowell County resident who lives near the Clear Creek fire. "I'm just hoping the good Lord will bring it to us tonight and tomorrow, so it will give us a lot of relief."
