The County Executive Director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency in Henderson/Polk/Transylvania counties, CED Kelly Springs, has announced that ranchers and livestock producers may be eligible for assistance from the Livestock Forage Disaster Program for grazing losses incurred in 2016. According to Springs, “Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania Counties recently met qualifying drought ratings that 'trigger’ eligibility for the Livestock Forage Disaster Program on improved pasture, native pasture and sorghum forage.” For more of this story, click here.
