Serenading the grandchildren with a classic chorus of “the ants go marching one by one, hurrah,” Bill and Trish Polfus and and their grown children carry three freshly cut Fraser firs in a line down a hillside at Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving for the family, like trips to the choose-and-cut farm for many families, is more about tradition than it is about a tree.
