(NC) Growers refocus efforts on immigration reform

Flavor1st Packers and Growers has operations across the Southeast growing corn, tomatoes, peppers and more on hundreds of acres, but this year, the company had to cut back its production. Owner Kirby Johnson said in Henderson County alone, a reduction "to the tune of 100 acres in tomatoes and 155 acres in corn" was needed because "I'm not going to plant it and leave it in the field."
