William "Bill" McKay (1925-2008) moved from Raleigh to Henderson County at the age of 1, but he always considered himself a county native. A leader in education, banking and farming, McKay served his community for four decades, including 21 years on the Henderson County School Board and four years on the Board of Commissioners.
