FEMA registration deadline extended from Monday to Jan. 23

The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved North Carolina's request of a 14-day extension for Hurricane Matthew survivors to apply for federal disaster assistance. The deadline was scheduled to be Monday and will now be Jan. 23. This is the second time the deadline has been extended; the first was due to a decline in registrations during December.
