Watermelon Day is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, at the State Farmers' Market in Raleigh.  This is a fun, relaxed event that includes free watermelon slices, watermelon recipes to take home and a largest watermelon contest. Weigh-in for the watermelon contest begins at noon.
