If everybody in the world adopted the North American diet, there would be a shortage of land …. a new study has found. The researchers, from the University of Guelph in Canada, wrote about their study in the journal PLOS ONE. Adherence to USDA guidelines would require one giga-hectare of extra land under current farming practices, the researchers concluded.
