Senators consider bill to block EPA from regulating livestock emissions

The Environmental Protection Agency would be banned from requiring livestock operations to seek permits or pay fees such as a "cow tax" for methane or other biological livestock emissions under a bill that received a hearing Wednesday in the U.S. Senate. The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee held a hearing on multiple bills Wednesday morning, including a bipartisan bill led by Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., the Livestock Regulatory Protection Act.
