Gerald T. Grubb has announced plans to seek the Republican nomination for the Guilford County House seat now held by GOP Rep. Laura Wiley. Wiley announced this month that she is retiring from the legislature. Grubb, who owns Southern Cross Mortgage Company, says he will serve the district by being an "active listener" to constituents. Republicans Paul Norcross, a logistics consultant to DHL, and John Faircloth, a High Point City Council member, have also announced their candidacy for the seat.
