Threats force closure of USDA offices

The Agriculture Department shut down offices in five states because of anonymous threats, including at Beltsville, Md., home of USDA's flagship research facility. A spokesman didn't describe the nature of the threats but said that the department was working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement.  In addition to Beltsville, the closed offices were located in Fort Collins, Colo.;  Hamden, Conn.; Raleigh, N.C. and Kearneysville and Leetown, W. Va.
