$750 Grant Awarded to Vets to Vets, United in Durham Dr. Jennifer Shults (r), NCVMA District 4 Representative for Wake and Durham counties, recently presented a $750 check from Friends of the NCVMA Foundation to Dr. Terry Morris of Vets to Vets, United (l). Vets to Vets, United is a non-profit organization providing canine companionship exclusively to US military veterans who are lonely, suffering from depression or who have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury or physical disability. - Veterans choose their own dog ONLY from animal shelters and rescues
- Veterans works intimately with Vets to Vets United, Inc. trainers weekly to custom train dogs to accommodate specific needs of the Veteran.
Friends of the NCVMA Foundation is fully tax deductible charity whose purpose is the educate the public as to the science and art of veterinary medicine. One of its many philanthropic endeavors each year is to award individual grants of $750 across each of the NCVMA's 11 membership districts to entities engaged in enhancing the welfare of animals. |
