A Day with PSC
Story Date: 8/4/2014

Each year, the Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) presents update sessions at RESAs around the state. These sessions help keep educators up-to-date on recent and upcoming changes in educator preparation, certification, and ethics rules. This year’s update session is especially important since Georgia has recently implemented the new Tiered Certification System and this fall will initiate rule changes that will significantly change professional learning and educational leadership rules. Learn how tiered certification, educator evaluation, professional learning, and certificate renewal are closely linked to help improve teaching and learning. School and system leaders will receive timely information including helpful handouts that can be used to prepare teachers and others to make a smooth transition from old to new rules. In addition a Highly Qualified Teacher update session has been added.

This session is aimed particularly at principals, superintendents, HR staff, and professional learning staff, but is appropriate for any educator.
