Gifted Endorsement Offering, July 18, 2016 through April 26, 2017
Story Date: 5/17/2016
Coursework consists of 200 contact hours (20 PLU's) in the following courses:
- Characteristics of Gifted Students
- Methods and Materials for Teaching the Gifted
- Assessment of Gifted Students
- Curriculum and Program Development for the Gifted
Coursework will include:
- Group presentation on a special gifted population
- Critiques of articles
- Case studies
- Assignments
- Creation of a unit plan, assessments, and lesson plans for a unit for gifted students; teachers will submit a video of one lesson from this unit
Candidates must:
- Have a clear renewable Georgia Teacher Certificate
- Be employed by a Georgia school system
- Be recommended by local Professional Learning Director/Curriculum Director and Principal
- Have 2 years successful teaching experience
- Be committed to completing the program
