Oconee RESA announces the
following opportunity: Computer Science Endorsement Course 1:
Principles of Computer Science. The Computer Science Endorsement
program consists of seven courses. The coursework is equivalent to
graduate-level college courses. Curriculum utilized will be part of the
Official Oracle Academy for Computer Science and has been aligned with ISTE and
CSTA Standards for Computer Science Teachers. The first five courses focus on
content knowledge. The other two courses focus on the advancement of content
specific pedagogy. This course provides endorsement candidates with a
foundational knowledge of Computer Science. It provides an overview of the
basic concepts in computer science ranging from computer hardware components,
interconnection network structures, communication protocols, analysis of
computer algorithms to software systems, and applications. ● Have a clear renewable Georgia teaching certificate ● Have a minimum of one year of teaching experience ● Have a recommendation for participation by their employing principal or school level leadership ● Have a Digital Literacy Certificate (recommended) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/DigitalLiteracy/curriculum4.aspx#computerbasics In addition to
the state of Georgia teaching requirement, candidates are strongly encouraged
to complete the Digital Literacy assessment. This foundational preparation also
enables teacher-candidates to be prepared to teach courses within the
curriculum. The digital literacy certificate is recommended but
