Georgia Teacher Academy for Teacher Preparation and Pedagogy(GATAPP)
Program Entrance Requirements Prior to enrolling in GATAPP, candidates must meet program admission requirements. See steps below:
Step 1
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher from a PSC approved
institution, with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4 point scale. (Official transcripts must be submitted with
each TAPP application or accessible from the Georgia Professional
Standards Commission (GaPSC) website; otherwise, TAPP application will
not be processed.)
Step 2
Candidates must have passed the GACE Program Admission Testing Requirement in reading, writing and mathematics or qualify for exemption with
a passing score on the SAT, GRE, or ACT. You can also exempt the GACE
Program Admission with a passing score on Praxis I, if you have taken
test prior to September 1, 2006.
●SAT exemption: minimum combined verbal and mathematics scores totaling 1000; or, ●GRE exemption: minimum combined verbal and quantitative scores totaling 1030; or, ●ACT exemption: minimum combined English and mathematics scores totaling 43.

Candidates must complete the Georgia Educator Ethics Program Entry(350). You do not need to pass, but you must complete the assessment before you can enroll in GATAPP; Step 4
Candidates must have been offered employment by a school district or school.
For some certificate fields and teaching assignments, GATAPP candidates are required to pass the GACE II content area assessment
before acceptance into the TAPP program. Click

gain GATAPP acceptance in most teaching fields or content areas,
candidates are not required to pass the GACE II or Content Assessment;
however, the candidate’s college major must align with the field of certification sought, or the candidate’s college transcripts must reflect the required concentration of in-field courses. Step 5 -Have not completed student teaching in undergraduate or graduate work. -Have not held a Clear Renewable Teaching or Technical Specialist certificate. -Provided official transcripts from all colleges or universities -Secured a job offer as a teacher with a Georgia school system
Step 6
After you have met program admission requirements, complete and submit Candidate Application to Oconee RESA.
Step 7
When you have been offered employment, complete and submit District Assurance Form to Oconee RESA. The 2016-2017 Oconee RESA Cohort will meet July 18-22, 2016, and July 25, 2016 at Oconee RESA in Tennille.
The 2016-2017 Savannah-Chatham County Public School District Cohort will meet July 11-15, 2016, in Savannah, Georgia.
