Aspiring Principals Seminar (This class has been postponed.)
Story Date: 1/20/2017

The responsibilities of public school leaders are very complex and have changed as accountability has increased. The principal has the responsibility of being building manager, human resource administrator, change agent, student disciplinarian, cheerleader, instructional leader, school improvement specialist, and in some cases, surrogate parent. Satisfying the requirements associated with these roles can be challenging for even the most experienced administrator. This leadership seminar will allow leaders and future leaders with an interest in moving into the role of principal the opportunity to take part in discussions and a Q & A session with some of the region’s highlighted principals. These experienced principals will share strategies, lessons learned, and details about topics such as student achievement, maintaining a balance between professional and personal lives, rewards of the job, community relations and many other topics pertinent to the role of the principalship.

This year’s featured principals include:

Dr. Fernando Aker - Principal of Putnam Co. Primary

Ms. Leah Clark - Principal of Ridge Road Elementary

Dr. Judith Geter - Principal of Wilkinson Co Elementary
