A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words: From Image to Creative Writing

Visual Literacy strengthens writing skills from any discipline (ELA, Science, and Social Studies) and at any stage of the writing process. During this workshop, teachers will participate in activities to become oriented with the concept and uses of Visual Literacy, including the ways in which it can be applied in a classroom setting to promote critical thinking. Learning Objective:To demonstrate that images (or visual literacy) can be used in the classroom to motivate students to think critically and integrate the ideas of others into their own process, while also influencing the ideas of others through their own work.
