I was the Hospital Service District Director for Vermilion Parish Hospital Service District # 3 from 1995-2007. When I arrived the district had $40,000.00 in the bank and a 1.5 million in debt. When I resigned it had no debt and 1.2 million in cash.

I am in my 2nd term as Mayor of Gueydan. With in this time I have balanced the budget while giving the police and fire department raises at the cost of cutting my own salary. We have won Cleanest City in the State 3 years in a row. We have recently received over a half a million in grants to overlay the roads and $250,000.00 for a new pump off system for the Town of Gueydan.

I have been married to Nancy LeJeune Hensgens for the past 9 years. Nancy and I love spending time with our family and friends. Our family loves traveling, boating, cooking and Holiday gatherings. We are members of Saint Peter's Catholic Church.

My christian values guide our family every day. I am 100% pro life and committed to protect the unborn. I am pro gun and a hunter. I will fight to protect the rights of the culture of our community. Defending our land against erosion and salt water intrusion, demanding the right to drill we must protect our economy and way of life.

I am a past President of the Gueydan Chamber of Commerce and understand the important"s of small business to our economy and culture. I will fight to keep government out of the way of business, while providing the necessary infrastructure to get the job done.

My roots run deep in both Vermilion and Cameron Parish, therefore I understand the needs of its people. I will fight the same fight that I have as Mayor of Gueydan.

Public Service is not a full time job, it is a full time dedication and I will dedicate myself to serve everyone in District 47. On April 30th, please Elect me, Craig "Bob" Hensgens for State Representative for District 47.
