Fellow Louisianians, it is my distinct honor and privilege to serve as Representative to the Louisiana House of Representatives for District 51, serving citizens in portions of Assumption, St. Mary and Terrebonne Parishes. My service to District 51 began in 2007 and I have worked hard to ensure representation of the district in key areas through my appointments to the Appropriations, Judiciary, Natural Resources and Environment, Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget committees, as well as Vice Chair of the Acadiana Delegation Caucus and as a member of the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation and Louisiana Rural Caucuses.

Family

While my role as a public servant is important to me, it is my role as husband, father and grandfather that means the most to me. I am most grateful for my wonderful family who allows me to serve the people of District 51. My special appreciation goes out to my wife, Susan Boudreaux Harrison, an Assumption Parish school principal, my daughter Ellen Harrison Rivere, a registered nurse and her husband Brian Rivere, a construction professional, Brian and Ellen's children Shay and Alli Rivere, my son, Shawn P. Harrison, a financial adviser, and his lovely wife, Julie Robichaux Harrison, a registered nurse and children Katherine and Molly Harrison.

As small business owner and entrepreneur, I know first hand how government can create an environment where businesses can prosper, or can sometimes create additional layers of burden. Outside of my public life, I am president of Harrison Financial Services, a company founded in 1988 and now under the expert management of my son, Shawn.
