Bio

Patrick Colbeck is a resident of Canton. He graduated from the University of Michigan with Bachelor's and Master's in Aerospace Engineering. He has also studied at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Michigan State University, and the International Space University in Strasbourg, France. Patrick has more than 20 years of professional experience spanning a wide variety of industries including Aerospace, Defense, Pharmaceuticals, Health care, Telecommunications, Automotive, Information Technology, and Financial Services. He has been an independent management consultant while president of Perspective Shifts, LLC since 2004, and in 2007, he formed a web hosting services company called Tek Made Easy.

Colbeck believes private sector growth is the key to economic prosperity. A vibrant private industry provides the money for government services such as education, healthcare, roads, police, firefighters, prisons, and numerous government programs. A lack of jobs results in lack of government services. Patrick says state government needs to simplify the regulatory environment because the cost of regulation detracts from the ability of businesses to hire more employees. Government should not be in the business of picking winners and losers in the job market, and should instead encourage and support anyone willing to risk their fortunes building a better future in Michigan.

Colbeck also has plans to cut taxes, reduce spending, enact real health care reform, fix education and restore honesty and integrity to public office through transparency reforms.
