Dean Black resides in Jacksonville, Florida, where he is a small business owner and cattle rancher. Born on November 23, 1965, in Jacksonville, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Mississippi.

Black is a Christian and has five children- Nathan, Savannah, Hunter, Alanna, and Silas. He also has two grandchildren, Miguel and Mateo.

He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2022 and was reelected subsequently.
