Bio

Rep. Betty Overbey of Lamar is serving her second term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. She represents District 69, which includes Johnson County and part of Pope County. During the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Overbey serves on the Public Health, Welfare and Labor committee. She is also invloved in the State Agencies and Governmental Affairs committee. During the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Overbey served on the House City, County and Local Affairs Committee, where she chairs the Local Government Personnel Subcommittee. She also served on the House Public Transportation Committee, and the Joint Energy Committee, and she was a non-voting member of the House Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee. Rep. Overbey is a retired state revenue agent. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and bird watching, and she is active in the Stephens Ministry. She and her husband, George, are Methodist. They have three grown children.
